AI Scribe: transcribe and generate notes
The AI Scribe listens to a clinical encounter, produces a transcript, and generates a structured medical note that you review and edit before saving. Nothing is recorded until you confirm patient consent, and every note can be edited before it is saved, exported, or sent.
You can start a scribe note from a patient, or use Quick Scribe when no patient is selected yet.
Steps
- From a patient, select Scribe, then New Scribe Note. (For an unassigned note, use Quick Scribe.)
- Choose a mode: Transcribe (record live), Generate (paste or type text), or Upload audio file.
- Confirm patient consent when prompted. Recording does not begin until you confirm.
- Select Start to begin transcribing. Speak naturally; you can pause and resume, and the transcript appears live with a timer.
Synthetic demo scribe screen: confirm consent, record with live transcription, and review the generated note alongside. - Select Stop when finished. Optionally choose a note template, the encounter or conversation type, and the note language.
- Select Generate Medical Note. Review and edit the generated note, then save a draft, or Save and assign it to the patient.
Generate from typed or pasted text
- Choose the Generate mode when starting the note.
- Type or paste the encounter text into the Transcript tab.
- Choose a template and settings, then select Generate Medical Note.
Upload an audio file
- Choose the Upload audio file mode and confirm consent.
- Select an audio file from your device; it is transcribed automatically.
- Review the transcript, then select Generate Medical Note.
Generate a PDF and add context
- After a note is generated, select Generate PDF and choose a PDF template to download a formatted note.
Synthetic generated note PDF example, ready to download or send. - Use the Context tab to attach files or reference previous notes so the AI can take them into account.
Synthetic demo context screen: reference previous demo notes or attach files so the AI takes them into account. - Use Copy to copy the note text, or Regenerate to produce an updated version with your current settings.
Always review the generated note for accuracy before saving or sharing. You remain responsible for the clinical content.
You can transcribe in one language and choose a different output language for the note.
Drafts are saved automatically and can be reopened from your drafted notes.
